1. Information We Collect

Todo Now: Task & Habit is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, transmit, or store personal data on our servers, except when you voluntarily contact us for customer support.

• Local Data: Todos, habits, and related data you create are stored locally on your device only
• In-App Statistics: You may see charts, heatmaps, streaks, and progress summaries within the app. These are generated entirely locally on your device based on your own activity. We (the developers) do not have access to this information
• iCloud Sync: If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced to your personal iCloud account (managed by Apple and stored in your personal iCloud container)
• App Preferences: Settings like theme, notifications, and display preferences are stored locally using UserDefaults for app functionality
• Customer Support: If you contact us via email for support, we may receive your email address and message content. We use this solely to assist you and do not store it in any marketing database
• No Tracking: We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking technologies, or advertising identifiers

2. How We Use Your Information

• All data remains private: Todo and habit data stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account
• No selling or sharing: We do not sell, share, rent, or transfer your data to any third parties
• No profiling: We do not create user profiles or use your data for marketing purposes
• App functionality only: Settings stored via UserDefaults are used solely to provide app features (e.g., remembering your theme preference, notification settings)

3. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: All your todos, habits, and settings are stored locally on your device using secure iOS storage mechanisms
• iCloud Sync (Optional): If you enable iCloud sync, your data is:
  • Synced to your personal iCloud account (controlled by Apple, not us)
  • Encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's encryption standards
  • Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud Terms of Service
  • Accessible only to you through your Apple ID
• No Server Storage: We do not operate servers that store your personal data
• You Control Everything: You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app settings

4. Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services, all provided by Apple:

• Apple StoreKit: Used for in-app purchases and subscription management
  • We receive limited transaction information from Apple solely to verify subscription status
  • We do not receive your payment details or Apple ID
  • All transactions are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• Apple iCloud: Optional sync service (only if you enable it)
  • Controlled entirely by Apple
  • We cannot access your iCloud data
• No Other Third Parties: We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or any other third-party tracking tools

5. Data Retention

• Local Data: Your todos and habits remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app
• iCloud Data: If iCloud sync is enabled, data remains in your iCloud account according to Apple's retention policies and your iCloud storage settings
• No Server Retention: Since we don't collect data on our servers, we have no data to retain or delete
• Account Deletion: There are no accounts to delete - simply uninstall the app to remove all local data

6. International Data Transfers

Since all data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account:

• We do not transfer your data internationally
• If you use iCloud, Apple may store data in various locations according to their data residency policies
• Refer to Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy for information about international data transfers

7. Children's Privacy

Consistent with our policy of not collecting personal data (as described in Section 1), Todo Now: Task & Habit does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age for data privacy in your jurisdiction). Use of iCloud and Apple services is subject to Apple’s age requirements and parental controls.

8. Your Rights and Data Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and accessible to you at any time through the app
• Deletion: You can delete individual items within the app, or delete all data by uninstalling the app
• Portability: Your data remains on your device; you can export or backup via iCloud if enabled
• Control: You control whether to enable or disable iCloud sync at any time

For European Union Users (GDPR Rights):

• Right to access your personal data (all data is on your device)
• Right to rectification (edit data directly in the app)
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten" - delete app or data)
• Right to data portability (via iCloud or device backup)
• Right to object to processing (not applicable - we don't process your data)
• Since we don't collect personal data on servers, most GDPR obligations don't apply, but we respect all your rights

For California Users (CCPA Rights):

• Right to know what personal information is collected (see Section 1)
• Right to delete personal information (delete app or data within app)
• Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we never sell your data)
• Right to non-discrimination (not applicable)

9. Security Measures

Your data security is built into the app's design:

• Local Storage Security: Data on your device is protected by iOS security features, including device encryption and passcode/biometric protection
• iCloud Encryption: If you use iCloud sync, data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using Apple's encryption standards
• No Network Transmission: We don't transmit your personal data over the internet (except iCloud sync if enabled)
• No Third-Party Access: No third-party services have access to your todos or habits data
• Secure Development: We follow Apple's security best practices in app development
• Regular Updates: We keep the app updated to address security vulnerabilities

While we implement strong security measures, please note that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We recommend keeping your device secure with a passcode or biometric lock.

10. Privacy by Design

Todo Now: Task & Habit is built with privacy as a core principle:

• Data Minimization: We only store data necessary for app functionality
• Local-First: All data processing happens on your device
• No Accounts Required: You don't need to create an account or provide personal information
• Transparent: This privacy policy clearly explains our practices
• User Control: You have complete control over your data at all times

11. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal/regulatory reasons. When we make significant changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• We will notify you through the app or via our website
• Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
• We encourage you to review this policy periodically
